The objective of these studies was to compare amino acid composition and nutritive value of naked oats grown either in monoculture or with serradella as an undersown plant, in different soil conditions. Heavy soils and the undersown plant, imroved seed yield. Naked oats had high protein and fat content, whereas fiber concentration was decreased. On heavy soils, higher protein content was associated with lower lysine concentrations. Biological value of protein in naked oats was higher than that in covered forms. The type of soil and the undersown plant did not affect significantly the BV of naked oats. Naked oats protein showed high true digestibility.
