W osteoporozie polekowej wywołanej podawaniem hydrokortyzonu po 4 i 8 tyg. trwania doświadczenia w zębach siecznych szczurów oznaczono zawartość potasu. Potas oznaczano również w zębach zwierząt, którym podczas sterydoterapii podawano inne leki. Zawartość potasu oznaczano metodą absorpcyjnej spektrometrii atomowej.

Potassium content in rat teeth was determined in hydrocortisone-induced osteoporosis after 4 and 8 weeks of the experiment. Potassium levels were also determined in the teeth of rats receiving some other drugs. The results were compared with those for the controls. During the experimental osteoporosis, decreased potassium content was observed after hydrocortisone application in the rat teeth both after 4 and 8 weeks of the experiment. The differences were statistically significant and considerable. Potassium seems to be strongly affected by any disturbances of rat metabolism.
