Two diaspidid species of Quadraspidiotus MACGILLIVRAY occur on oaks in Poland: Q . zonatus (FRAUENFELD) and Q. ostreaeformis (CURTIS). Separation of these species is reliable only on the basis of the microscopic characters. The main difference between Q. ostreaeformis and Q. zonatus is the presence of the dorsal macroducts on 4th abdominal segment in Q. ostreaeformis and the absence of these ducts on the above mentioned segment in Q. zonatus.
