The goals of this study were: valuation of the costs of chemical plant protection of peach trees and of the economic effectiveness of the usage of pesticides in the orchard in 1988-1992. The following methods were used: synthetic analysis, vertical analysis and cost analysis. Information for investigation was collected by the questionnaire method. These studies have shown that the peachery got from 7 to 11.8 kg biological substance per 1 ha. Cost of single plant protection treatment in the orchard increased from 4.3 to 180 złoty per tree. The effectiveness of chemical protection of the orchard expressed as quantity of fruit covering the cost of protective treatment was satisfactory. About from 5.5 to 7.0 percent of total fruit production from the peachery covered the costs of chemical plant protection in 1991-1992.
