Przedstawiono wyniki oznaczeń zawartości rtęci w tkance mięśniowej ogółem 324 płoci, leszczy, śledzi, węgorzyc, węgorzy, Storni, okoni i babek byczych złowionych w różnych miejscach w części wewnętrznej Zatoki Puckiej w latach 1995-1997.

Total mercury content was determinated in muscle tissue of roach, bream, herring, eel, eelpout, flounder and round goby caught in the inner part of the Puck Bay in 1995 -1997. The method of mercury determination was cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry after wet digestion of samples with concentrated nitric acid in a whole glass system. There was a positive relationship between mercury content of the muscle tissue (p < 0.001) and body length and weight of flounders from one of three sampling sites, while no such correlation was observed for the remaining examined fish. No differences were detected in the spatial distribution of mercury in flounder, perch, and round goby in the Puck Bay. Mean concentrations of mercury in the examined fish ranged between 31 ± 19 and 130 ± 54 (total range 6-210 ng/g wet weight), while perch were most contaminated with that element (110 ± 43-130 ± 54; total range between 23 and 210 ng/g wet wt.).
