EN

The article reviews the contribution of agricultural economics to agriculture and food sector development in two sections (areas): methodical and cogntive. The methodical dimension covers indices, norms and methods of economic calculations which enable managers to measure and analyse data and support the decision making process on a different level of management. In the cognitive section research problems are characterised as well as concepts focused on removing barriers, threats and weaknesses in the development of agriculture and food sector in Poland.
