A direct method of measuring pH stomach juice in dogs by means of a combined electrode, ERH 123-6 acting in cooperation with a measurer of pH, MAT 1202 has been presented in the paper. For comparative purposes the content of stomach juice was collected and pH was estimated in vitro. In addition, in one dog the direct measurement of pH was carried out at necropsy. The described method proved to be simple, effective and possible to be performed regard less of whose an animal stays. The results of direct measurements were closer to a real pH of stomach juice than those in the collected contents. It was probably caused by the presence of saliva in the content of the stomach juice collected.
