W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań wpływu dichlorfosu, pestycydu fosforoorganicznego, na parametry lipidowe oraz aktywność peroksysomów w wątrobie szczura w porównaniu z efektami wywołanymi przez fenofibrat.

In this work we studied in vivo the effect of dichlorvos poisoning on lipid parameters, peroxisomal beta-oxidation system and catalase activity in rat liver. We observed a significant increase in the level of triacylglycerols and total cholesterol in DDVP-treated rats in both liver and blood serum. Treatment of rats with fenofibrate, a potent hypolipidemic agent, led to a reduction of the hyperlipidemic effect of dichlorvos. No changes were detected in proliferation of peroxisomes or in the activity of the peroxisomal beta-oxidation system. Intoxication by dichlorvos increased the activity of catalase, the H2O2-degrading enzyme in peroxisomes, indicating that the toxic effect of DD VP on liver may be mediated by reactive oxygen species.
