The vaccine, prepared with Campylobacter fetus subst. fetus 10/95, was used in aborting flocks, during natural outbreaks of acute campylobacteriosis. The experimental group comprised 60 pregnant sheep which were given 3 ml of vaccine twice. Control group comprised 10 pregnant sheep, not vaccinated. It was found that vacccination elicited a twenty times higher level of specific antibodies in the fifth week after the first vaccination and an above forty times higher one, after the second injection. Such rising of antibody titers totally protected the vaccinated sheep against preterm partus, in spite of abortions in the flock.
