The concentrations of magnesium, fluoride, zinc, manganese and iron in fossil skulls were determined by atomic absorption and fluoride ion-selective electrode. The material mentioned above came from the different areas of Poland (Złota 4000-1700 B.C., Sandomierz X-XII-th a century, Lublin XVIII-XIX-th century). The fluoride concentrations increased according to the age of analysed bones. The magnesium concentrations showed very high stability. The zinc, manganese and iron concentrations did not change specificly according to the age of bones. The reasons for described relations were discussed.
