EN

Making use of genetic engineering for improvement of crop carie ties is discussed. Main trends of biotechnological research in the scope of food technology and nutrition of men are presented and some of them, such as protein engineering, biosynthesis of wanted elements, use of lactic acid bacteries, of biosensors, etc. are described. Examples of the practical use of new achievements of the food biotechnology are quoted.
