Lipases constitute the most important group of biocatalyst for biotechnological applications. This review describes issues concerning immobilization of li¬pases by covalent binding and cross-linking. Properties of va¬rious organic, inorganic and composite supports were charac¬terized along with their suitability for lipase immobilization. Knowledge of issues discussed in the paper can be helpful in the planning research connected with chemical immobiliza¬tion of lipases.
