This paper discusses the effect of faba bean tannins and non starch polysaccharides of lupin seeds on monogastric animals. Chemical composition of whole and dehulled faba bean, white, yellow and narrow-leaved lupin seeds is presented. The influence of dehulling of faba bean and lupin seeds on digestibility of nutrients is described. The results of growth experiments performed on poultry and pigs fed on diets containing whole and dehulled faba bean and lupin seeds are presented and discussed.
