The paradigm, main goal of rural development and of regional policy in Poland at the beginning of the 21st century will be influenced by: - turning-point and radical progress in the transfer of people, resources, technology and information; - integration, internationalization and globalization of the worldwide economy conducting to close collaboration and mutual dependence of the countries and regions; - increasing differentiation of development models of rural areas, based on their specific characteristics and diversity; - effects of Poland's integration with the European Union. The new paradigm of rural development and regional policy in Poland at the beginning of the 21 st century must be directed to higher living standard in all regions and must take into account in each area: - the common social aim (creation of equal chances for proper standard of living), - the economic aim (best utilization of diversified conditions and possibilities of development).
