W siarze krów otrzymujących wyższe poziomy cynku odnotowano wyższą zawartość białka, wapnia, fosforu i cynku.

The digestion-balance trials on 24 dry cows were conducted. Animals were randomly divided into 3 experimental groups fed diets containing different quantities of Zn such as 40, 50 and 70 ppm per 1 kg of dry matter. In experiment the digestibility of basal nutrients, nitrogen retention and also absorption and secretion of Mg, Cu and Zn were determined. At the end of experiment the blood samples and after calving the samples of colostrum were taken for mineral composition determining. Increasing of Zn level in dry cows diets improved the N-free extractives digestibility and nitrogen retention but decreased absorption and retention of magnesium and copper. Zinc supplement increased absorption and retention of this element and also decreased magnesium contents in blood serum. In colostrum of cows giving higher doses of Zn the higher protein, calcium, phosphorus and zinc levels were noted.
