The growth of triazine susceptible and resistant plants of Erigeron canadensis L. was compared during three months of vegetation season, i.e., in June, July, and August., that differed in the total solar irradiation. In August, when the solar irradiation was lower, the resistant biotype was characterized by a quicker biomass increase (RGR) of the above-ground parts, and also by larger leaf blade than the susceptible one. In June, when the irradiation was higher, the resistant plants were growing slower than the susceptible ones. The chloroplasts of the resistant plants were more open to the photoinhibitory influence of strong solar irradiation than the chloroplasts of the susceptible plants.
