Socio-political changes in Poland have been followed by ownership transformation process. This activity covers all Polish economy sectors including agriculture. In agriculture privatization has involved more than 1600 State Owned Farms, which cover about 4,5 mln hectares. This area covers not only agricultural fields but also forests, lakes, reserves, areas of protected landscape etc. Therefore state agriculture ownership transformation process will have an affect on nature in Poland. In the presented paper the autor shows stages of ownership transformation process: liquidation of State Owned Farms, preparation of Restructurization Programs and methods of privatization. Especially ecological criterion at all stages has been considered. In conclusion the author confirms that ecological criterion has not been taken into account in the state agriculture ownership transformation process. Because that process is not finished - only 3% of agricultural grounds have been sold - in the last part of the paper the author indicates how at present it is possible to include ecological criterion in the Polish state agriculture ownership transformation process.
