During the studies on coprophagous beetles (Coleoptera, Scarabaeoidea) of the Szamotuły area, detailed observations on the structure of the beetle communities were carried out in 1992-1993 in theree different kinds of pastures (field, river-bank and forests). Characteristics of the studied communities are presented. Based on these earlier data a scheme of development of coprophagous beetles' communities in the conditions of western Poland is proposed.
