Badania dotyczą możliwości wytwarzania arbutyny w hodowlach tkankowych Bellis perennis L., Bergenia crassifolia (L.) Fritsch, Brassica oleracea var. Capitata L., Coronilla varia L., Leonurus cardiaca L., Leuzea carthamoides DC., Rheumpalmatum L., Rhodiola rosea L. i Datura meteloides DC. ex Dunal z jej potencjalnych prekursorów (hydrochinon, kwas 4-hydroksybenzoesowy, tyrozyna) w podłożu hodowlanym. Optymalna przemiana hydrochinonu i kwasu 4-hydroksybenzo- esowego do arbutyny zachodziła w hodowli tkankowej Datura meteloides, a tyrozyny do arbutyny w hodowli Rhodiola rosea. Procesy te odnoszą się do określonego czasu i aktywności działania prekursorów. Arbutyna nie była usuwana w trakcie doświadczeń z podłoża.

The paper describes the possibility of the arbutin production in tissue cultures of Bellis perennis L., Bergenia crassifolia (L.) Fritsch, Brassica oleracea var. Capitata L., Coronilla varia L., Leonurus cardiaca L., Leuzea carthamoides DC., Rheum palmatum L., Rhodiola rosea L. and Datura meteloides DC. ex Dunal by applying of its potential precursors (hydroquinone, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, tyrosine) into the nutrient medium. The optimal transformation of hydroquinone and 4-hydroxy- benzoic acid to arbutin were achieved by tissue culture of Datura meteloides and of tyrosine to arbutin by Rhodiola rosea culture. This knowledge is accepted only at optimum time of precursor activity. Arbutin was not released into the medium.
