In the paper some problems connected with harvest and conservation of hay of high moisture content are presented. General requirements and the principles of application of chemical and biological additives for damp hay conservation are discussed. Special attention is paid to the technical aspects of additives application during harvest with classical high pressure balers and with round balers. The effect of some additives on fodder quality is also presented.
