The studies have shown that ID is useful both for the recognition of PI3V infections in cattle and for the detection of PI3V proteins in the material containing BLV and PI3V antigens. The combined viruses produced two precipitation lines associated with two different antigens. By the use of specific antiserum against BLV or PI3V it was confirmed that each antigen developed one specific line of precipitation.
