The aim of the study was to examine the five fertile carrot inbreed lines in respect to morphological traits in generative stage. In the year of 2012, plants were generatively propagated both in the greenhouse and in the field of the Re-search Institute of Horticulture, Skierniewice, Poland. Two types of pollinating insects (red mason bee and flies) were used for obtaining of seeds. Flowers of all carrot lines were fertile with desired morphological characters, high ability for the generative propagation and good usefulness for the breeding purposes. Growth conditions had an important impact on the morphology of the umbels of tested carrot lines. Plants propagated in the field produced significantly higher number of umbels and had higher seeding index than plants propagated in the greenhouse. Two types of insects had a similar effectiveness as pollinators for propagation of carrot both in the field and in the greenhouse.
