The contribution of sulphur pollution to acidification of sandy and loamy soils was estimated on the base of a long-term microplot experiment. Elemental sulphur applied to the soil in doses of 125, 250 and 500 kg simulated annual SO₂ immission. It was established that the contribution of sulphur pollution to soil acidification increased with the increment of sulphur immission. For the sandy soil it ranged from 25 to 87%. but for the loamy one from 22 to 100%.
