Calculation of the effectiveness of fallow deer (Dama dama) farming in Poland in current situation of agriculture sector was performed. Due to the shrinking market for stock animals, income of fallow deer farms has decreased nowadays because profitability of fallow deer meat production is inferior to production of breeding animals for sale. In the case of just meat production, agricultural income without CAP subsidies showed to be negative. Due to CAP subsidies based on the area payments, the effectiveness of deer farming occurred to be positive; however, better financial results might be obtained when stocking density is extensive (5 animals/ha) in comparison to intensive one (15 animals/ha).
