The research was performed in a long-term fertilization experiment set up in 1948 at Mochełek in the vicinity of Bydgoszcz. The aim was to determine the relationship between some properties of the surface soil layer (0 - 25 cm) and the yield of fodder cereals and the bread wheat grain uniformity. The source variation of the soil conditions was natural variability and 14 objects of a long-time fertilization treatments: mineral, organic, and organic-mineral and then two levels of recultivative fertilization. The assessment included: granulometric composition, pHKCl and organic carbon content as well as the content of readily available forms of phosphorus, potassium and magnesium in the soil. Correlation and regressive dependence of the yield of oats, spring barley, corn and the winter wheat grain uniformity from the soil properties were determined. With the increase of organic carbon content the yield of spring barley increased and with a higher share of silt in the soil fraction size composition - the yields of oats and maize grains. The soil pHKCl index together with the content of available potassium determined the yield of oats and together with sand fraction in the soil grain-size composition - the yield of spring barley. The corn grain yield increased with the alkalization of the soil reaction and the increase of the soil content of available macroelements, especially with the simultaneous increase of phosphorus and potassium content. The content of available in the soil positively affected the winter wheat grain uniformity.
