The objective of this study was to determine the contamination with aflatoxin B1 of selected, commercial food products in the Province of Podkarpacie in the years 2004–2009. The studies confirmed the prevalence of aflatoxin B1 in the tested products. Studies on the presence aflatoxin B1 on pasta samples conducted in 2007 showed the highest average content (0.12 μg/kg) and the maximum level (0.20 μg/kg) of this aflatoxin (exceeding the acceptable) value of 0.10 μg/kg. The maximum content of aflatoxin B1 was at the level of 6.74 μg/kg and the exceed acceptable level (5.00 μg/kg) was also found in the sample of one spice (nutmeg) in 2005. The content of this mycotoxin in all other tested products did not exceed the acceptable values.
