The allergic test with T. spiralis antigen was applied in 236 patients. The positive result was obtained in 18 persons and they were subjected to detailed examinations. Two persons were found to have had acute trichinellosis. In all persons the detected cardiologic and electrocardiographic changes were typical of chronic trichinellosis. The role of trichinellosis in pathogenesis of the motoric system, myocardium and vascular diseases is discussed. Cases of chronic trichinellosis may be mistaken for rheumatic diseases and subjected to balneologic treatment which has an adverse effect in this situation.
