In field experiments with spring barley (Basza, Blask, Granal and Nadek cultivars) in 2008–2009, the effect of fungicides Amistar 250 SC (azoxystrobin) and Prosaro 250 EC (prothioconazole, tebuconazole) on main malting quality parameters of grain was studied. Both fungicides did not negatively affect the total malting quality of grain of all barley cultivars. The only negative effect of fungicides on malting quality caused by the increase of soluble protein content in wort was recompensed by the positive increase of Kolbach Index and diastatic power. Basza cultivar showed the highest malting quality as compared to Blask, Granal and Nadek cultivars.
