The examinations were performed in 1987—88 in the Legnica-Głogów Copper Mining Center and in the region f East Podlasie. The samples of livers from 70 young 5ws and castrated boars from individual and market reeding farms were examined. After mineralization at 50°C the content of Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb was determined) у the use of the method of atomic absorption spectrophoimetry (ASA) at the Perkin-Elmer model 300. A mean concentration of Zn in the livers of pigs fromíe region situated around the copper foundries was gnificantly lower than that in pigs from Podlasie proably due to pollution of the environment by Cu. Emissionsom the copper foundries are the main source of polluon of pigs kidneys with Cu and Pb. It seems that in igions exposed to industrial pollution concentrated mixededs serve as an additional source of pollution of pigs ith Pb and Cu compounds.
