New records of Cucujus cinnaberinus (S COPOLI, 1763) (Coleoptera: Cucujidae) in the vicinity of Radom

Cucujus cinnaberinus is a strictly protected species in Poland. It is also included in the EU Berne Convention and Habitat Directive. C. cinnaberinus has been recently found in Radom and its environs in 4 localities: EB09 Radom-Borki; DC92 Natura 2000 „Dolina Dolnej Pilicy” (Dobieszyn forest fistrict); EB29 Natura 2000 „Puszcza Kozienicka” (Radom forest district); EB48 Natura 2000 „Dolina Zwoleńki”. It has not yet been reported from the Natura 2000 areas „Dolina Dolnej Pilicy” and „Dolina Zwoleńki”. It is a rare species in central Poland. The analysis of presented material indicates that species inhabits river valleys with remnants of old tree stands including significant contribution of poplars.
