To demonstrate the significance of fungi and bacteria for plant growth and development the preliminary studies were carried out using material isolated from roots of willow Salix viminals L. The cultivation and initial selection of strains were done on broth medium under laboratory conditions. Strains characterized by fast growing and high virulence were used for the preparation of fungal-bacterial inocula. In parallel to laboratory work Salix viminalis 1054 were planted on experimental plot. Portion of cutting after 1-month of growth (after restarting vegetation after winter) were treated with inoculum by its injection into the soil, the remainder plants were used as the control samples. The positive effect of introduced inoculum on growth and development of willow was observed.
