Among 21 species of Zopheridae recorded in Poland, several are extremely rarely encountered. Some of them have only old records in Poland, dating back to pre-war times or even to 19th century. New localities of two such species are reported in the present paper. Both Colobicus hirtus and Synchita undata have been recently recorded in a forest in Oborniki Śląskie (Trzebnica Hills), and S. undata was also found in another site, in Rozumice nature reserve (Eastern Sudeten Mts). In both cases, beetles were found in well preserved forests, even though the forest in Oborniki Śląskie is not legally protected. Characters allowing to distinguish S. undata from S. variegata – the only other species of Zopheridae with elytral pattern occurring in Poland – are discussed. Data on the biology of both species is summarised.
