Many years of personal experience in practicing various forms of active tourism led the authors to believe in the exceptional importance of proper nutrition in achieving planned journey destination. The specificity of sailing, the conditions for its practicing, influenced the choice of an offshore sailing trip as a form that best reflects the complexity of a studied problem. The aim of the study was therefore to indicate nutritional deficiencies in the preparation and execution of the seven-day sailing trip on the Baltic Sea and put forward proposals for rational nutrition recommendations. During the trip, observations of nutrition practices (direct observation – overt) were made, and then the consumed meals were studied with the aid of the programme for the food products nutrition values analysis (Dietetyk 2012). The obtained results were compared with the nutrition standards. On this basis, the major nutrition problems were defined, comprising mainly of an excessive use of highly processed convenience food. Utilitarian value of this work is to indicate the proper ways of nutrition.
