W artykule przedstawiono kierunki zmian demografi cznych na obszarach wiejskich polsko-niemieckiej strefy przygranicznej. Szczegółowej analizie podano okres przed (2004 r.) i po (2009 r.) akcesji Polski do UE. Wyniki badań pozwoliły na skonstruowanie modelu rozwoju demografi cznego i wyróżnienie obszarów progresji, regresji i stagnacji. Analizę i identyfi kację potencjału demografi cznego przeprowadzono na podstawie wybranych cech demografi cznych z zastosowaniem metody Perkala.

This paper presents demographic trends at rural areas of Polish-German border area along the border line of Poland and the German federal state Brandenburg. A detailed analysis was conducted for the Polish pre-accession period to the European Union (2004) and the post-accession period 2004-2009. A special attention was paid to the dynamics of natural increase and migration balance. The results reveal areas of progression, regression and stagnation, resp. A population growth model is derived basing on the Perkal method.
