Thanks to the task 2.4.of the sector operational program “Restructuring and Modernization of Food Sector and Development of Rural Areas” there is a possibility of financial support for investment in agrotourism from EU structural funds. It is a very favourable solution, especially for people who start agrotourist activities on their farms, because they have a chance to obtain reimbursement of the expenses incurred up to 50% of their amount. In Małopolska there are potential labour resources for families living in rural areas. The region has suitable conditions for development of agrotourism which should be promoted as an excellent source of additional income for farmers. The Polish Federation of Country Tourism “Hospitable Farms” and the Agency of Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture cooperate closely with each other, which is manifested by, among others, widespread dissemination of information for farmers about financial support from structural funds, rules of issuing opinions and classification of accommodation establishments, all procedures indispensable to take advantage of EU means.
