In the nearest years the activity of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute will be concerned with the tasks imposed by the European Union. The EU requirements impose an obligation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on the member countries till 2014. For this reason, scientific work of the IPP – NRI will be directed towards working out scientific bases of IPM in agricultural crops. To fulfill all these requirements, innovation methods dealing with molecular biology and precise plant protection will be involved in the research programme. The effect of climatic changes, as well as occurrence of new agrophages will be also taken into consideration. The superior aim of performed research will be reduced use of pesticides, and development of biological and other alternative control methods.
