In the available literature there is only one paper of M. S. Komarowa (1951) according to which Asymphylodora tincae (Modeer, 1780) possesses a 1-year growth cycle. The studies were carried out in 1962-63 with Tinca tinca (L.) from lake and pond environment. These two environments showed different intensity and extensivity of infestation. Mature and young parasites of the species invariably found throughout the investigation period. Trematodes from fishes of the same environment exhibited simultaneously highly varying stages of maturity. The author feels that the development of A. tincae in final host is very short and that in our climatic conditions it possesses more than one developmental cycle.
