The paper presents findings of the research of water samples taken from the area of demonstration farms established under a cooperation network in the BalticDeal project. The main goal of the project was to promote good practices with regard to management of fertilizer components and minimize fertilizing losses based on the conducted water quality research and soil fertilizing needs. As a result of the research, it may be concluded that ground waters are still largely contaminated with compounds of nitrogen and phosphorus from agricultural sources. The obtained findings indicate a great need to promote environmentally friendly agricultural practices in the drainage area of the Baltic Sea.
