In Poland, single individuals of A. imitans have been found sporadically, whereas a common incidence of the species is raported in foreign literature. The material of Abramis brama (L.) derived from Vistula (Toruń region), investigated by the author in the years 1962-1963 was found to be infested with A. imitans in 79%; the degree of invasion ranged from 1-224 parasites. The literature data and the author's observations suggest that, in our lakes, A. brama does not harbour the species.
