Abstrakty

EN

Bioptic specimen of the mucosa of the small intestine obtained by aspiration from patients with various helminthosis of the alimentary tract was examined microscopically. The diseases in question were: lambliosis, taeniosis, ascaridosis, strongyloidosis, trichinellosis and opisthorchidosis. The bioptic specimen of the mucosa of the small intestine obtained from patients with helminthosis of the alimentary tract shows slight histopathologic abnormalities in a high percentage of cases. In most cases they consist in a slightly pronounced catarrhal affection of the small intestine. This pattern does not differ considerably from other histologic pictures found in most parasitic diseases accompanied by diarrhoea. In severe cases of helminthosis atrophic changes of the mucosa may be present; they account for the syndrom of mal absorption syndrome observed ia chronic and acute cases of parasitic diseases of the alimentary tract.
