W czerwcu 2014 roku znaleziono nowy, obcy dla flory Polski gatunek z rodziny sitowatych -Juncus anthelatus (Wiegand) R.E. Brooks & Whittem.

In June 2014, a new alien species to the flora of Poland, a member of the rush family Juncaceae - Juncus anthelatus (Wiegand) R.E. Brooks & Whittem was found. The sites are located west of Żagań in the mesoregion of Lower Silesian Forest (Lubuskie Province), on the former military training ground (Fig. 4). The size of the population was about 1200 tussocks. The species grows along the training ground roads, on the outskirts of puddles and ruts, and on the roadsides (Fig. 5). Juncus anthelatus was probably brought by Dutch military vehicles while being here on manoeuvres in 1997 and 1998. Another alien species was recorded in the same area - Scirpus georgianus, which is the second record of this taxon from Poland (Nobis et al. 2014).
