The presented materials on the occurrence in Poland of 1 species from the family Bolboceratidae, 5 species from the family Geotrupidae, and 2 species from the family Trogidae supplement the information contained in the „Catalogue of the Fauna of Poland” (Burakowski et al. 1983) as well as the author's earlier publications (BUNALSKI 1992, 2006, 2019; BUNALSKI et al. 2013, 2014; BUNALSKI and PRZEWOŹNY 2008, ROSSA et al. 2017). Most of the species discussed are widely distributed across Poland, and their characteristics have been supplemented with the typology previously proposed by the author (BUNALSKI 2006). Among them, the least frequently observed species is Trox cadaverinus ILL., a thermophilic keratophage that feeds on desiccated remains of dead animals. It leads a cryptic lifestyle and forms sparse populations. It is usually observed during its flights, which occur after dusk, and it responds positively to light traps A local species, found mainly in western Poland, is Typhaeus typhoeus (L.). It primarily inhabits open pine forests on sandy soils and dunes, as well as heathlands. This coprophagous beetle builds nests at considerable depths. It is active from autumn to early spring and is usually observed individually.
