Asahi SL is known as a biostimulant with a considerable potential for plant protection against any abiotic stress. Consequently, crops treated by Asahi SL are able to maintain a constant yielding level despite of unfavorable conditions. In 2008–2010, the Plant Protection Institute – National Research Institute conducted field experiments designed to determine the effect of Asahi SL on the yield and some other traits of selected field crops. The following agricultural crops were included in the experiments: sugar beet cv. Soplica; potato cv. Tajfun; spring wheat cv. Żura and winter rape cv. Galileo. Asahi SL was used at the dose 0.6 l/ha, at two terms in each crop. The biostimulant was applied at the growth stage BBCH 14 and 18 in sugar beet and potato, at the growth stage BBCH 29 and 37 in spring wheat, and in winter oilseed rape at the growth stage BBCH 13–14 and BBCH 28–30. The results of performed experiments indicate that the effects of Asahi SL was highly dependent on the weather conditions during each vegetation season. Asahi SL increased the yield of sugar beet but it did not influence on sugar content in roots. Asahi SL also increased the yield of potato tubers, spring wheat grains and winter rape seeds. The effect of the biostimulant on number of grains per ear of wheat was much higher than on weight of 1000 grains. Asahi SL did not affect protein and fat content in oilseed rape seeds.
