The paper presents first the role and place of landscape maps in the system of infomiation on natural environment, and then utilization of landscape maps and a proposal of their classification. Classification of maps was carried out on the basis of criterion of area encompassed, scale, taxonomic rank of geocomplexes presented in the map, contents and purpose of the map and temporal changeability. Utilization of landscape maps in the analysis of land use was presented in more detail, leading to elaboration of the concept of maps of landscape use, presenting land use against the background of the structure of natural environment, that is - in reference to the boundaries of physicogeographic units - geocomplexes. In the furt her part of the paper the examples of elaborated maps of landscape use in the scales of 1 :50 000, 1:100 000 and 1:500 000 are shown.
