From 3270 cases of common diseases registered in 1823 interparturient periods in 949 cows from 5 cowsheds in 1980—87, 30% occurred in the 1st, 16% in the 2nd and 7,2% in the 2rd month after calving. The highest incidence of endometritis (49,2°/o) and mastitis (45,9%>) was found in the 1st month after parturition, interdigital phlegmon (18,7) and septic pododermatitis (16,0'°/o) was noted in the 2nd, and the Rusterholz syndrome in the 3rd month after parturition. Morbidity was higher in the winter period (November—April) comparing to the summer period (May— —September) both in grazing-stabled and stabled systems. Analysis of calving pattern revealed that increased incidence of diseases in winter concerned only metritis and interdigital phlegmon in cows in grazing-stabled system.
