The remains of chlorinated hydrocarbons in the samples of meat and fat of horses were determined by the gas chromatography method. The animals were meant for export and they originated from different districts of Poland. The samples of musculus longissimus and a reserved fat were examined. It was found the variable amounts of DDT, DDE, DDD and alpha — beta and gamma-HCH which, however, did not exceed the quantities regarded as permissible.
