The last decade has seen an intensive development of rope adventure parks. Rope adventure parks are not a brand new form of education. They were, however, typically associated with obstacle courses used in military training, colloquially referred to as “monkey’s paradise”. Contrastingly, the form they are assuming currently may be contributed to the tendencies that inscribe physical culture in post-modernism, with all resulting consequences (both advantages and hazards). The Polish literature on the subject does not devote much attention to this phenomenon. Rope adventure parks are most frequently presented as a new type of tourist attractions and a component of tourism infrastructure. The emphasis is placed on their originality, opportunity to experience extreme amusement, and a broad spectrum of entertainment. There are also voices of harsh criticism of commercialization of rope adventure parks, especially with regards to the variable quality of their services. The objective of this thesis is to present rope adventure parks as an attractive form of outdoor activity for Physical Education students. All forms of outdoor recreation, in fact, have a significant educational potential and are increasingly present in modern education and lifestyle. This thesis has empirical character. The pilot study included a group of students who participated in educational activities at a rope adventure park. Through their form and through application of outdoor techniques, an attempt was made to create circumstances conducive to development by future physical education teachers of such social competences that will help them at work. The research method was a diagnostic survey, the research technique was a questionnaire, and the research tool was a survey questionnaire. The study resulted in collection of information about the social profile of students and their opinions about execution of activities and obtained experience.
