The examinations were made in 202 persons at the age of 1 to 18 years, of both sexes, using fresh feces smears in physiologic saline solution, stained with haematoxylin according to Heidenhain. The following protozoal invasions were found: Entamoeba coli - 49 cases (24%), Entamoeba histolytica - 7 (3%), Entamoeba hartmanni - 10 (5%), Endolimax nana - 36 (18%), Jodamoeba bütschli - 5 (2%), Dientamoeba fragilis - 33 (16%), Lamblia intestinalis – 42 (21%), Chilomastix mesnili - 7 (3%), and Enteromonas hominis - 6 cases (3%). It may be assumed that the percentages obtained are a faithful reflection of the intestinal protozoal invasion in children and youth of the whole country. Their high, hitherto unknown values are due to the correct method of examination.
