Basing on two profiles an analysis of hill-side material was carried out. The shift of the deposit along the hill-side was stated on the grounds of changes in granulation and in the degree of abrasion of quartz grains of the sandy fraction. Changes occurring in the degree of sorting and abrasion of the material are connected with the washing process and with the type of the section of the hill-side where the process occurs. The degree of material sorting rises from the bottom of the diggings toward their roof. That means that the source formation is worse sorted than the covering in which the washing process occurs. In the part of the hill-side where accumulation prevails the grains are better rounded and can be displaced more easily. Instead, on the denudation side there occur worse rounded grains in a better sorted material.
