The activity of digestive enzymes and the stomach acidity in weaning piglets feeding with HCl acidified diet. The experiment was performed on 50 piglets divided into 5 experimental groups and appropriate controls. The piglets of experimental groups were fed with HCl acidified diet from the 10-th day of age. On the 28-th day of age the piglets were weaned. On the 4-th, 5-th, 6-th, 7-th and 8-th week of age the activity of alpha-amylase, lipase, pepsin and trypsin were measured in the pancreas and the content of stomach, duodenum and ileum. No significant differences in the activity were observed between the control and the experimental animals. Only trypsin activity in the pancreas of the 5-th and 6-th week old experimental piglets was lower in the control groups (p ≤ 0.05). The total acidity was slightly higher in the gastric digesta from experimental than control groups but these differences were not significant.
